All the wood we use is from sustainable sources, personally selected for it's grain patterns which gives the wood great character and an unique feel.

The lettering is cut into the wood 'Free Hand' giving our signs a friendlier, homely look compared to factory computer engraved signs. The size of lettering will vary depending on the size of sign and the number of letters required.

Sign Making Process

• The lettering is filled with waterproof paint.
• Sanded, oiled, stained with a wood preserver.
• 2/3 coats of wax enriched waterproofer.
• Finally, waxed and buffed to a smooth finish.
• The whole sign goes through this process even the back.

Lettering

• Capitals - This will be very bold letters.
• Upper/lower case - This gives the plaque a very homely style.
• Standard - An even style to the 'free hand' lettering.
• Quirky - Informal look to the style of lettering.
• Colours available - Black, White, Red, Green.

For an extra charge we can add a motif to your sign. Almost any motif can be added, our most popular is a horse head for stable plaques.

We even offer a BESPOKE SIGN SERVICE, which means if none of our sizes are appropriate for you, we can take your desired measurements and make a wonderful handcrafted sign exactly how you want it.
